I stay busy with mowing the grass about every 5 days and working in the garden and my flowers. It is a joy to garden in Maine. Everything grows...just put it in the ground and water it frequently and it thrives and produces fruit. The squash and cucumbers have small fruit and lots of blooms and the garden tomatoes have large green tomatoes and blooms. The patio tomatoes have small cherry salad tomatoes and lots of blooms too. I will have an abundance of cucumbers to make pickles and preserve a few pints of tomatoes. Reminds me of growing up on the farm in Tennessee. Thanks goes to my mom for teaching her daughters to cook and preserve food and to dad for teaching us how to garden.
Our cottage is a place for family and friends to come and relax, share a meal or cup of tea; a place of peace and tranquility; a fun place filled with joy and laughter.
Our home is called a "Sheiling" which is Scottish for a small cottage in a retired place (as on a mountain or at the seaside) such as is used by shepherds or fishermen; a summer cottage.
I love the ocean and seashore. I am happiest living at the cottage in Eastport, Maine. I am married to a school teacher, mother of one son, Rudy and have two step-sons, Matt & Jon.
