Advent Season and Christmas

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is the first Sunday in Advent. I start decorating with the advent candle and a wreath. The snow was a bonus.

Thanksgiving 2010

The month of November brought more snow. We had a traditional Maine Thanksgiving with my first attempt at making oyster dressing for Danny. I made Bell's New England stuffing for the turkey, baked sweet potatoes, fresh green beans, cranberries, and pumpkin pie.

Fall Harvest and Halloween

I think time passes faster when you can see the change of seasons.
It is so evident here in Downeast Maine, with the colors of the leaves in October, harvest fairs and farmers markets.

The bluejay had a feast on the corn.

I started a job on my birthday, October 12th. I am teaching 6th grade at Eastport Elementary School and with teaching, there are never enough hours to do all the ancillary things associated with the job. Things like grading papers, weekly staff meetings, training and development, etc.
Hence why I have not posted on my blog for two months. I miss my free time at home, taking care of our cottage, cooking, decorating, writing, daily walks to the beach and visiting with friends.
