We traveled to Tennessee to visit my sister Sallie and brother Randall, who live near Crossville. We had a nice visit and ate some good Mexican food in Wartburg.
Then on to Florida to visit our sons for Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Danny accepted a long
term sub position teaching math so our stay was extended until end of March.
We traveled to South Florida in Palm Harbor to visit for a week with Sue and John Turner. We had an
awesome time and good Greek food in Tarpon Springs.
We spent our anniversary Dec.18th at the Casa Monica Hotel and ate dinner at Le Pavillion. We enjoy their European menu of German and French cuisine. It was a change from our typical Columbia Restaurant celebration. The food is good at both.
Christmas Eve was spent visiting with a group of friends including dinner at Dick and Charlotte's house. On Christmas morning we drove up to Baxley Georgia to spend the day, exchange gifts and eat dinner with family. It was a good and safe trip.
It has been a sunny and mostly warm winter in northeast Florida with the exception of a few cold nights and 50ish days. The pollen has been heavy with a terrible allergy season for Danny and me since we arrived in Florida. The patio needed to be cleaned every day before I could sit outside and enjoy the weather.
We made several trips to St. Augustine on the weekend to eat at Columbia and Saltwater Cowboy's restaurants.
We look forward to our trip back to Eastport this weekend March 22nd.

Happy Birthday Janice #62. Thank you Danny for my books and for ordering this awesome cake plus chocolate covered strawberries created by Diane at her Moose Island Bakery. The cake was delicious and strawberries too.
Thank you Gary at Pickled Herring for a delicious birthday dinner.

Morning coffee on the deck. Another sunny, glorious day. Watching the birds feed and listening to their merry song.
Boats go out and boats come in...a morning ritual for the fishermen.

It was time to stake the beans...the runners need a place to climb. There are small yellow squash, tiny Scotia tomatoes and bush cucumbers are full of blooms.
Also have tiny peppers of different varieties. Danny likes them hot but I like sweet banana peppers.
Scotia tomatoes staked front row, then kale and back 3 rows are peppers.
I added some hanging flower baskets with my bird houses.
Added a Welcome Summer Sign.

I went out on the deck with a cup of coffee in hand to watch the lobster boat loaded with traps go out to sea. Then at 7:00, Danny and I went for a morning walk downtown along the water. A leisure stroll, no shops open yet except for Dastardly Dicks coffee shop, Moose Island Bakery and Liberty Cafe Greek restaurant serving breakfast.
We opted to come home for breakfast and enjoy my own cooking...a bacon, egg and cheese on English muffin and a cup of tea.
Danny has gone to Calais to buy lumber to build me some flower boxes and I think I will bake some bread.
Life is good.
